Khmer Consonant: ច

ច is located on the lower case c key

left hand, middle finger, bottem row

Khmer Consonant: ឆ

ឆ is located on the lower-case q key




left hand, pinky finger, top row

First Five Consonants: កខគឃង

Practice:
Western fingers touch these keys: kxKXg
to make the first Khmer consonants:
កខគឃង
that sound like this: kaw, k-or,khou,khoo,ngoo
កខគឃង

Khmer Consonant: ង

ង is on the lower-case g-key (and is one of the hardest sounds for this western mouth to make)

Khmer Consonant: ឃ

ឃ is on the upper case X key


Left hand, fourth finger, bottem row - shift key too.

Khmer Consonant: គ

គ can be found on the upper case K key

Right hand, third finger and shift key with left pinky

Khmer Consonant: ខ

ខ can be found on the lower-case x key

Left hand, ring finger, bottom row

Khmer Consonants ក

ក​can be found on the lower-case  k key

Middle finger on the right hand middle row.

About Typing to Learn Khmer

After installing the Khmer Unicode and Mekhala browser software,  I thought to myself - what a great way to attempt to learn khmer.   Inspired by "Typing to Learn" keyboarding curriculum for teaching kids in US typing skills, I decided I could try to fuse these ideas into this blog.  I invite any native speakers and other non-native speaking khmers trying to learn this language to share their tips and suggestions.
