Thanks, Beth. Mongol joined the directory shortly after your announcement. :-)
Just a little more elaboration on why this directory was set up and how it can benefit members:
First, over 50% of all Internet users will be Asians soon. However currently, readers of most blogs are very likely to come from the USA much more than any other countries. So, if your target audience are Asians, this directory will benefit you greatly.
Second, members of this directory can:
* Reach out to a much wider audience, especially people in Asia.
* Read more Asian blogs and start providing roundups or insights on interesting developments in Asia.
Third, there is currently no Asian directory (not blog post aggregators like Digg or Ningin) available on the Internet that is:
* “Unconditional”: All bloggers and social media activists in Asia are welcome to list their blogs and/or social media sites there without having to add a reciprocal link to the directory from their sites.
* Community-managed: Almost any site can be added without being screened first. (Naturally, abusers shall be barred.)
