Via Lux Mean's Cambodia Blog comes this symbol that represents the newly formed Alliance of Freedom of Expression in Cambodia, a coalition of 30 NGOS. According to Lux Mean, some 60,000 of these ribbons have been distributed.
The Alliance was formed in response in response to the recent arrest of a journalist and a union leader in criminal defamation lawsuits filed by the government.
"This urgent campaign comes at a time of threat against freedom of expression and arrest of those who have merely expressed their opinion,'' Kem Sokha, director of the U.S.-funded Cambodian Center for Human Rights, told a news conference.
I am wondering if the organization has created some blogger badges of the yellow ribbons that we could distribute along with a link to the statement?
