This year we toasted NTEN's first decade and people in the community who have been there since the beginning (including me) But I'd like to raise a glass and toast Holly Ross, NTEN's executive director. She is not only an extraordinary organizational leader, but she is a brilliant community builder!
Holly has been NTEN for ten years! And those of us who have been around for whole or part of the decade and have witnessed the NTEN community grow, blossom, and mature - know first-hand of her extraordinary talents.
Holly knows how to weave people together, give recognition, create rituals, and all the many other skills of building a strong community. One tradition she started last year, in response to the economy, was to get extra sponsorship from Convio to cover some scholarships for those who otherwise couldn't make it.
As part of the thank you to donors and the community, she created a remake of Bohemian Rhapsody by the muppets movie using members of the community in cameo roles. Armed with her flip camera and her laptop she, asked people to mimic short clips from the movie.
What a great way to make people feel part of something!
Thank you Holly for all you've accomplished in building, supporting, guiding, and celebrating the Nonprofit Technology community!
