I'm back in DC where I facilitated two workshops on social media. The first session I co-lead with Katrin Verclas which was a look at social media and mobile tools. We live tweeted using the hashtag #cliclear I also had my n95 and we live streamed some of the presentation. It was a great opportunity for me to learn a little bit more about mobile tools. You'll find lots of great resources over at Katrin's web site, mobileactive.
The next day, I did a session on how to think strategically about your social media.
It was great to do at a Spitfire session and discuss how social media integrates with the Smart Chart.

The good folks at The Port Network had emailed me about an extra NTEN Membership and I raffled it off at the end of the session. The lucky winner was Surfrider Foundation. (In a weird sort of kismet, I got to hear a wonderful presentation about Surfrider Foundation during my first week as scholar in residence at Packard Foundation.
I got asked for resources in these areas:
Facebook Best Practices
Social Media Research (that's free)
Policy
If you were at the session, and had a question about a specific resource or technique and I didn't cover it in our limited time, please leave a comment and I'll point you to something or even write a whole blog post about it!
