Alligator on the St. John's River in Florida
The photo above is an American Alligator that I stared down from an air boat on the St. John's River in Florida while live streaming with my n95 last week while on an all too brief vacation. I also took the kids to Seaworld and we road the Journey to Atlantis Roller Coaster. Not being a roller coaster enthusiast (I got on the roller coaster because the kids needed an adult to accompany them, I didn't take my n95 along ... (you'd hear a lot of screaming otherwise ...)
I was delighted to discover that Sea World worked with Kami Huyse to reach out to a community called “American Coaster Enthusiasts” using social media tools. Jeremiah Owyang posted this case study about how they used YouTube and Flickr to share their media and encouraged the community to create content. Impressive to read that some videos were downloaded 100,000 times!
Somehow the combinations of Alligators and Roller Coasters have helped me get back my flow known as the mental state of operation in which the person is fully immersed in what he or she is doing, characterized by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. Proposed by psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi who called the ideal point between anxiety and boredom.
For the two months leading up to my brief vacation, I've been doing a lot of training and presenting - chewing on some lessons learned from the America's Giving Challenge, Social Media ROI, and Cute Dogs. It's time to reinvent some more ...
In May, and June, I have workshops and presentations to do and want a chance to reflect and muck around inventing. Some places I want to go ..
