The 8 Random Facts About Me meme is circulating in the nptech blogspace here, here, and here (I got tagged twice already, so ignored it.) But, today, I got tagged again ... by CogDog Blog.
I hate memes as much as Alan does .... but it could serve as a nice virtual icebreaker before you meet with a group face-to-face. So, as a prelude to the Cambodian Bloggers Summit, I'm going to tag 8 of them.
Here it goes.
1) Post these rules before you give your facts
2) List 8 random facts about yourself
3) At the end of your post, choose (tag) 8 people and list their names, linking to them
4) Leave a comment on their blog, letting them know they’ve been tagged
My Random Cambodian related Facts about Me:
1.) I like to listen to my favorite khmer group, Dengue Fever. Dop Pram Moy is my favorite song.
2.) On my first trip to Cambodia, I photographed a pair of red baby sneakers in front of famous landmarks in Cambodia with the idea of writing a children's book, "Where Are Harry's Red Shoes in Cambodia." I took hundreds of photos. I never finished the book.
3.) My favorite khmer dish beef lo lac. I can't cook it, but my husband does a great job of preparing it.
4.) Cambodians really enjoy me singing Arapayah Araypayah .. even thought I only the first line of the refrain and totally mess up the prouncing the words.
5.) My family gets their haircut in Lowell, MA in the Cambodian neighborhood on for $8 per haircut. Monchut does great haircuts.
6.) When I'm invited to do social dancing khmer style, I have to repeat to myself left foot than right, raise right hand, twist wrist, and down.
7.) When I taught a ESL class in Roteang Village during a visit three years ago, a cow walked through the school yard and I shouted "Holy Cow, a Cow is walking through the schoolyard" and the whole class repeated what I said.
8.) My favorite Cambodian photo in Flickr is titled "Abbey Road"
I am tagging:
"Holy Cow...." That is just priceless....

Loved this. Thought about a great restaurant in Pittsburgh, Lemongrass. Perhaps Cambodians will like to know that Americans value Cambodians here.
About "Holy Cow" a friend recently traveled to India and met a little girl who repeated everything he said: "Hello" "Hello." Charmed he began to say more interesting things find the time to rhyme Maybe you can find just the right English words to spread a meme in Cambodia :-)
I also mention pinting's blog because he links to your blog there. The value of what you do--and Michelle Martin too--extends far beyond the NPtech universe.
