David Tames offer his personal impressions of the MIT TechTV. He noted that Blip.TV is the platform for this and I wondered whether that was part of their services. David said that they do this type of work for select clients and that it was a smart way to develop a service. The site content will be moderated and if inappropriate (off topic) content is posted - it will be removed - but that long term the site will be community moderated. Flickr is one excellent example of community moderation. I wonder how you can intentional community moderation can be or how you establish the culture so appropriate community moderation can happen.
Steve Garfield shared what he has done with the new blip.tv player and I really like it. I need to carve out some time to play with it. Steve mentioned another live streaming site similar ustream (blog tv?).
In the conversation around whether or not to use something like Ning or build your own platform - one of the drawbacks is that you don't get to keep your google ad revenue.
I learned one of the secrets of David Tames excellent photography - raw talent! Well, there is one other thing. He takes many many photos while people are talking and only keeps 15% of them.
