There is so much happening in Second Life with nonprofits, educational institutions, museums, and libraries that it is hard to keep up.
The amazing Wayne MacPhail has been helping the Alzheimer Society of Ontario and Second Life Library 2.0 curator Shadow Fugazi put together a photo exhibition in Second Life. The show, called "Remember Us," is a series of photographs by Hamilton, Ontario-based photographer Cathie Coward. The images and the supporting text give visitors a sense of what it's like to be part of the Alzheimer's community. There is also an interactive brain memory board.
The opening is Thursday evening. Read more over at Wayne's blog.
I also wanted to flag this podcast from the Rabble Network by Wayne MacPhail with Evonne Heyning, otherwise known as In Kenzo from the nonprofit Amoration Studio.
Amoration tackles a wide variety of creative ventures for corporations, like Telus and for a host of activist and nonprofit groups like Betterworld Island, a group which has created the powerful Camp Darfur simulation you'll hear Evonne mention in the interview. Evonne is also a machinima producer and you view some of her work here. Machinima are movies filmed inside virtual worlds like Second Life.
Mia Farrow and Darfur event scheduled for last week was cancelled due to a fire in the Cambridge, MA building. Stay tuned for scheduling information.
