It's called: Change the World by Working in a Virtual One. Susan Tenby and I were co-authors (our real life and avatar photos above). We interviewed three nonprofit trailblazers -- Dave Pentecost (also known as avatar "Usu Ventura"), Barry Joseph ("Globalkids Bixby"), and Evonne Heyning ("In Kenzo") -- all from youth organizations doing projects in Second Life and pictured below!

Nice article! Great seeing real world / virtual world profiles of non-profit organizers.

Beth,
This is a great article. It started all sorts of thoughts circling in my head. Some times breaking the walls of thinking in non-profits can be so difficult. It is great to see new things occuring though. I posted a thought that melded with this concept some time back. Check out http://randomthings.wordpress.com/2006/08/24/on-the-cutting-edge/. Obviously this goes way beyond my post but it is exciting to see it coming into "reality".
Great work as always.
