In an interview with the Phnom Penh Post, former Khmer Rouge henchman Nuon Chea discounted the deaths of Cambodians during their reign in the 1970s. "Why should we have killed our own people? I do not see a reason," he said. "We wanted a clean, illuminating and peaceful regime."

The portal will be launched by June this year. www.krtrial.og will be the home on the net of this newly established web. This will give another channel to Cambodian citizens to access to Khmer Rouge Trial related information and news, mostly are selected media articles and information from involved government institutions and organizations.
