RSS In Plain English

Click to Play

Lee LeFever and Sachi created this three minute video to explain RSS in plain English and why if you're not tracking web information using RSS you need to do so!   His post is here

This afternoon I'm teaching a webinar called Ten Steps to Extension 2.0 for Extension professionals new to Web2.0 ideas and tools.  RSS is Step 5.    I've been in the searching for best primers in text, photos, and video and this one is definitely a keeper.

I like how they video a diagram on a white board, use printed paper copies of the computer screens, and explain the ideas very simply.   The style is reminds of Michael Wesch's now famous Web2.0 introductory video, The Machine is USing Us.

Thanks Beth. I'm completely honored to be mentioned in the same breath as the Wesch video. Happy it was helpful for you. :)

How do I love Beth...let me count the ways. Several weeks ago I finally got on RSS. thanks to Beth, who gave me the RSS metaphor that got through my dim brain: The reader is the basket and the blogs are the eggs. Although I now have whiplash from all the cool things I find out about daily...that I was completely clueless about; I am super grateful. STILL I could not get my colleagues, much less my senior clients to grasp why RSS is so cool. This video is finally the RSS for Dummies that will help those less technically inclined reach for a tool that helps them alot. Kudos Beth, kudos Lee LeFever and Sachi!!!
