Life Long Computer Skills: Information Coping Skills

Jakob Nielsen's Alert Box has a column today called "Life-Long Computer Skills"  I have been on a soapbox about information coping skills for almost ten years now.  Here's my early curriculum and some more recent posts.  Someday, maybe I'll have time to think about this more and develop a workshop.

He offers this advice:

In the future, there will be even more email, more IM/SMS/ mail/phone calls/video mail, more websites, more podcasts, and richer intranets. And all of it will be available in your office, at your home computer, on your mobile, and on various ambient devices.

People can take simple steps to fight information overload, but as information snowballs, we'll need more sophisticated strategies.

What are your information coping skills?

Some more discussion here, here, and here.

My best one is running 5 miles or doing a spin class.  For some reason, vigorous cardio exercise helps clear out the information anxiety  Maybe it is the just the stepping away from the reflected light dancing across my eyes coming from the monitor.
