Susan Tenby from TechSoup gave a presentation for a workshop called Virtual Games/Virtual Worlds during the Northern California Grantmakers Briefing called From YouTube to Podcast: Digital Media, Philthanthropy, and Social Justice. Anil Dash, of Sixapart, was one of the speakers. You can listen to a podcast of his remarks here, read a live blog from Lucy Bernholz here and read his reflections on he said over at his blog here.
Tom and I arranged to meet Susan in-world for the presentation. We started off with a little fun ... I brought out my grand piano and Tom showed off some pretty spiffy dance moves. Susan had set us up on a SKYPE connection while we were in-world. Sitting at my desk in my office near Boston, I could hear the audience laughing and Susan speaking. Unfortunately, the session got started late and I had to leave for another commitment ....
But, I'm in luck! There were two skillful social reporters in the room. Lucy Bernholz was in the room live-blogged the session notes. Eugene Chan was also in the room and took photographs and sent them to flickr. The photograph below is Susan in the room testing out the equipment prior to the presentation.
