How the CDC is Cultivating Bloggers for its Public Awareness Campaign About Flu
My inbox has been stuff flooded with lots of email. For some reason, I'm receiving many more more (unsolicited) holiday fundraising and campaign requests than usual. This one was pretty interesting because it gave me some insights into the fact that organizations are treating bloggers as journalists.
I received an email from the CDC:
The flu season is here and the blogosphere is buzzing: How do I protect my family from the flu this season? Who should get a flu shot? Do flu shots give you the flu?
Get the answers to these questions and more. Please join us for a special seminar sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This webinar is designed especially for bloggers who blog about flu or who blog to groups at high risk for getting the flu this season. CDC scientists will give you the facts about seasonal flu and CDC health communicators will share tips for writing about the flu and communicating key flu messages to your readers.
I got my flu shot in November thank god! For official CDC information about the flu, click here.
